Live Oak Brand donates $5000 to National Forest Foundation beginning their Corporate Partnership

Wednesday March 10th 2021, Baltimore MD.

Live Oak Brand is a clothing brand known for its signature Live Oak logo. The brand was inspired by the co-founders time living in South Carolina and surrounded by these magnificent trees. It is time that we begin protecting the inspiration behind our brand.

Our first donation of $5000 is going to the National Forest Foundation (NFF), supporting their mission to “engage Americans in promoting the health and public enjoyment of our National Forests” including tree planting. (2021, https://www.nationalforests.org/). The NFF supports public lands that sustain our way of life through conservation efforts and responsible recreation. Live Oak will begin our partnership by donating 10% of our net profits throughout 2021 to NFF (a minimum of $10,000).

Why is it important to protect our forests?

Our forests have been used a resource for timber, paper, and development throughout time. It is imperative to conserve and protect our forests for many reasons including:

  1. Fighting Climate Change
  2. Ensuring Clean Drinking Water
  3. Preserving Fish and Wildlife Habitat
  4. Preserving Outdoor Recreation Spots

What does the National Forest Foundation strive to accomplish?

“The NFF works on behalf of the American public to inspire personal and meaningful connections to our National Forests. By directly engaging Americans and leveraging private and public funding, the NFF leads forest conservation efforts and promotes responsible recreation. Each year, the NFF restores fish and wildlife habitat, facilitates common ground, plants trees in areas affected by fires, insects and disease, and improves recreational opportunities. The NFF believes our National Forests and all they offer are an American treasure and are vital to the health of our communities" (2021. NFF).

National Forest Foundation’s Tree Planting Effort

Our donation will also help with NFF’s tree planning effort. Some examples of this work include:

  1. Planting endangered Whitebark Pine to help maintain numerous ecosystem processes and services.
  2. Planting trees to help restore and preserve land affected by wildfires.
  3. And Reforesting areas impacted by strong winds and extreme weather.
